The search for top innovators in Acadiana is on!
in·no·va·tion – the process of turning an idea into something that adds value.
If someone you know improved the world around them by creating value at their workplace or field of study sometime in 2012, please apply or nominate that person for an INNOV8 Award.
Innovators are all around us, especially in Acadiana. Their passion for progress inspires change in products, processes, businesses, curricula, programs and a host of other areas where they have influence. Indeed, you might be in innovator yourself and not even realize it! Maybe you started something at your workplace that led to a safer environment or you created a program that brought your neighbors together for a cause. Perhaps you built new arts, education or music curricula. All of these and more are considered an innovation.
Past winners include the inventor of a new diaper that helps prevent rashes, the creator of an oilfield safety program, a United Way initiative, a software company that launched in the medical arena and many more. Qualifying projects can come from anywhere in Acadiana including public, private, education and non-profit sectors in our region.
Entry is easy. Click on the link below and fill out the form. All we need is a description of the innovation and a contact number. Someone from the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce or the INNOV8 team will then contact you to learn more. Top innovators will have the opportunity to inspire others by telling their story at a special INNOV8 event on Monday, April 22 at the Acadiana Center for the Arts.
